I wanted to become better at the bob haircut, “the hardest haircut”, so I kept learning.

I practised different cutting techniques, graduation, layering and ways of controlling weight.

But I soon realised something.

Knowing more techniques didn’t automatically mean a better haircut.

Sometimes I would solve one problem and create another.

That’s when I realised that becoming a better hair stylist wasn’t just about learning more techniques.

It was about understanding when, where and why to use them.

That lesson became an important part of how I cut bobs at ACE Hairdressing Singapore today.
